Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Kida is only a bit above average in height, standing at somewhere around 5'6"-5'7". (170-173cm) She's trim and fit, toned from years and years (and years, and years...) of hunting and exploring and climbing all around Atlantis. ② How old is she? Kida appears to be in her twenties, but is in fact more in the ballpark of 8000. It's never specified when the Flood of Atlantis occured in-universe, but it's conflated with the Biblical Flood. ③ Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well, or does she slouch? She carries herself tall and proud, both because she will one day be a Queen, and because, as a warrior, she has a naturally strong core and back. ④ How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Kida is incredibly fit--she would be considered to be at the peak of human health and athleticism. ⑤ How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Kida moves with poise and grace. ⑥ How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? 10/10 tbh, maybe a 9 if the white hair puts you off. She considers herself pretty, or at least has no negative perceptions of herself. Atlanteans are a pretty good-looking bunch in general. ⑦ Describe her complexion: dark, light, clear, scarred? She has dark skin, but it's not from tanning. How Atlanteans aren't dead from Vitamin D deficiency is anyone's guess, but at least the lack of damaging UV rays keeps her skin flawless! ⑧ Describe her hair: color, texture, style. Kida's hair is completely straight and white as winter's first snow. Her brows are a shade darker. (Before you ask--the answer is yes. What's the question? If you weren't gonna ask, you didn't need to know.) ⑨ What color are her eyes? Electric blue. ⑩ Does the character have any other noteworthy features? She wears tattoos on her cheek: one stripe for the sea, one for the city, and one dot for her people, whose happiness is her burden to bear. When Kida becomes Queen, her tattoos are mirrored. ⑪ What are her chief tension centers? Kida is not a tense person, but on the occasions she does knots tend to form between her shoulderblades. ⑫ What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? In-canon Kida doesn't wear much, and what she does have is bespoke, made from blue fabric, with crimson dye and threaded with gold. In-game she'll prize utilitarian fashion, whatever looks nice without sacrificing ease of movement. She still prefers shades of blue, though. ⑬ Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? Yes and yes. Comfort and ease of movement are priority number one, and in Atlantis all her clothing was custom-made to fit her perfectly. ⑭ Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? Considering 'free time' and 'on the job' are nebulous categories for Kida, the answer is yes in 99% of cases. The only exception would be some kind of big ritual that would require ceremonial garb. ⑮ You knew it was coming: what kind of underwear does she wear, if any? In-canon it's a simple loincloth. In-game she....probably goes commando, oops. There's not so much going on up top that she needs tons of support, but she usually wears some kind of bandeau to keep things in place. >> top SPEECH ① What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Mezzo-soprano, lightly accented, clear on enunciation. Listen to Kida speak here. ② How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? Easily and with care--it's rare that Kida will use the wrong word, and she never stutters. ③ Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? She has an Atlantean accent when speaking English--and probably any other language--though her fluency is impeachable. She tends to avoid contractions and enunciates very clearly. ④ What language(s) does she speak and with how much fluency? Kida speaks Atlantean as her native tongue, and as a result speaks every other human language. Because root languages totally work that way. Thanks Disney. ⑤ Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Not really, unless she's speaking to a fellow Atlantean, in which case dig atlantisag becomes appropriate. Otherwise she'll just speak whatever language she's being spoken to in. ⑥ Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words? Good impromptu speaker! Kida doesn't really struggle to express herself. ⑦ Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? Eloquent in most cases, unless she's enraged. >> top EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL ① How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? Kida has a tremendous emotional intelligence, and is a voracious learner, but Atlantis' remoteness and its state of cultural deterioration means Kida is neither book-smart nor street-smart outside her home. She has a keen hunter's instinct which serves to keep her out of most trouble, but otherwise tries very hard to fill the gaps in her learning. ② Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? Absolutely the first. In fact, she's usually the 'act first, ask questions later' type. ③ Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Intuitive all the way; intuition is pretty much all she has. ④ What kind of education has the character had? Essentially none. Atlantis was sunk before she grew old enough to begin formal study. ⑤ What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? Hunting, scouting, fishing are things she's good at, as well as orating. As for what she's interested in--absolutely everything. The world's her oyster, as far as Kida sees it. ⑥ Is she an introvert or an extrovert? Extrovert, definitely. ⑦ Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered, or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholic? Laid-back or driven? Kida is a passionate person, and quite vocal about what inspires her and what doesn't. When she sees injustice, she'll act, no matter what it might cost her. In general, you could say she has more courage than sense. ⑧ How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? With completely unbridled enthusiasm. ⑨ Is she more likely to act or to react? Act, unless there's an innocent third party at risk. ⑩ Which is her default: fight or flight? FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT. ⑪ Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? Kida's fairly straightforward, but a good prank would definitely make her laugh, even if she was the receiving party. Humor that's meant to humiliate or taken at the expense of another isn't something she'd take part in, however. If she says something mean, it's not usually intended--unless you're an asshole. ⑫ Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If so, how does she deal with them? Not really. ⑬ What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person? The sinking of Atlantis and the loss of her mother. Other than that, there aren't really any striking moments--it's the slow slide of Atlantis into despair that gets to her. ⑭ What does she fear? That her city and her people will fade into nothingness. ⑮ What are her hopes or aspirations? To be an admired Queen, to make her people proud, to restore Atlantis to its former glory. No pressure. ⑯ What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her? That she has no idea about anything. >> top RELATIONSHIPS ① Describe this character's relationship with her parents. She has only a few distant memories of her mother. Meanwhile, her relationship with her father is strained. She doesn't know it, but he's keeping the reason for the sinking of Atlantis a secret from her, and he believes that Atlantis must remain beneath the ground to protect it. Kida believes her people are going the way of the dinosaurs. Despite ideological differences, it's obvious she loves and respects her father tremendously. As Atlantis' only other royal, he's her closest friend and only remaining family. ② Does the character have any siblings? What is their relationship like? None. ③ Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand? None. ④ Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them? None. ⑤ Who is the character's best friend? How did they meet? At her current canonpoint, she has no 'best friend'. ⑥ Does she have other close friends? she considers her people her friends and, in a way, her family--if prompted, she'd call them her heart, her motivation. Their well-being is important to her. ⑦ Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people? Not really! Kida's situation is one of missed opportunity. In a jamjar setting she's more likely to make actual friends because there's no 'class divide' keeping her separate from those around her. She's not really afraid of being vulnerable. ⑧ Which does she consider more important: family or friends? Family. ⑨ Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once? Single. ⑩ Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? No. ⑪ Who was her first crush? Who is her latest? She's probably entertained a few crushes or lovers over the years, but nothing serious and none currently. ⑫ What does she look for in a romantic partner? Strength of will, ambition, purpose, kindness, intellectual curiosity, respect. ⑬ Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If so, how does she relate to them? If not, does she want any? She has none, though she has a responsibility to bear an heir if/when she marries, which she isn't too fussed about. In her mind, it's not really a choice so much as a positive obligation. ⑭ Does she have any rivals or enemies? Time. ⑮ What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey Scale? Heterosexual, maybe a 1 on the scale at most. ⑯How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her? It's a fun activity between consenting parties? It's not really very big on her radar at the moment, though. ⑰ What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? Confidence is A+, the rest is negotiable. Anyone asking to be called 'daddy' would get the stink-eye, though. >> top BELIEFS ① Do you know your character's astrological sign? How well does she fit the type? No birth date given (it's doubtful she even remembers), and she's probably Aquarius. ② Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life? Not really. The closest thing Kida has to deities in her life are Atlantis' former rulers, but otherwise she's effectively agnostic. ③ Does this character have a personal code of ethics or morals? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? Kida has a strong sense of right and wrong. She'll defend the weak and elderly, provide succor when she can, and offer her time and energy to help causes that preserve life. Still, Kida divides her world between what is 'Atlantis' and what is 'not-Atlantis', and the needs of the first outweigh those of the second by a wide margin. If it ever came down to a choice between helping her people thrive and another people survive, she'd have a very difficult time. ④ How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? Tolerant to a point--if your beliefs involve hurting people, Kida probably won't like them or you--and extremely willing to find out more. ⑤ What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational, or does she have a good reason for them? Aside from a natural bias towards her own people, Kida doesn't really know enough about the world to be prejudiced. >> top DAILY LIFE ① What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? She's rich in the sense of living in a (ruined) palace and having mountains of (completely useless) treasure at her disposal, yes. ② What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her? Kida is a princess and will one day be Queen. It's a source of pride, because it's a pretty big job, but it's also her biggest and weightiest responsibility. She takes it very seriously and it informs all her choices. ③ Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others? She lives in the palace/main temple with her father, though it's doubtful she spends a large amount of time there. Her 'home' is her city, more than the palace complex. ④ Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on? Nothing, since her people will provide what she needs for her. In a game, probably decent clothing and weaponry. ⑤ What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else? She's...a princess! Aside from her political/ceremonial duties she also hunts, scouts and researches her city's past. She's never really given much thought to doing anything else, because her path is already traced. ⑥ What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time? Exploring! Kida loves to find out about new places and see new sights, both of which are rare when you've lived in one place for eight thousand years. ⑦ What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? She eats enough to get by--eating to live rather than the other way around. She's not one for excess, but she won't ignore a big spread, either.
